CLASS GUIDELINES
(THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW TO HELP YOU SUCCEED IN THIS CLASS)
2003-2004

CLASS MATERIALS need to be brought to class each day -- this includes World Geography textbook and notebook, planner, and writing utensil (blue or black ink or pencil).  You will not be allowed to leave class to get them.
Textbooks will be covered in class and are to remain covered the entire year. (Replacement  covers will always be available).
Please take GREAT care of our textbooks!!

CLASSROOM RULES  Everyone and everything deserves to be treated with RESPECT.
You will be expected to act appropriately in class.
Also.....Pop and Candy will not be allowed in class.
Students are to be in their seats when the bell rings and remain there unless otherwise given permission.

ASSIGNMENTS are expected to be completed and brought to class on time.
If an assignment is not brought to class, a grade of "0" will be given -- if it is incomplete, it will be graded "as is."
"No name" work will be downgraded 10%, including quizzes, tests....

CLASS WORK  Announced tests, quizzes, projects and homework will be graded and used to detmine grades, with extra credit only given at teacher's discretion  (all students will be given the same opportunity for any extra credit given).

GRADING SCALE
     100 - 93 = A
       92 - 86 = B
       85 - 78 = C
       77 - 70 = D
        69 - 0  = F

ABSENCES  Students who miss class with an excused absence will be given one day for each day missed to complete all work.     You will be expected to have all assignments completed and take all quizzes and tests on the scheduled day regardless of absence (exceptions -- prolonged illness...).

SCHOOL ACTIVITIES  Students involved in any type of extracurricular activity must make arrangements concerning classwork before they are gone for an activity.  If this is not done, then work missed will be entered in the grade book as "0."

ACADEMIC DISHONESTY  Students caught being academically dishonest will be referred to administration.

COPIES  Students will receive one (1) copy of all assignments.  If it is lost, stolen, misplaced...students will need to make their own copy (either by paying for a copy in the library or copying it by hand).

COMPUTER LAB  Students are expected to act appropriately in the computer lab.  Students who are acting improperly or misusing computers (word processing, internet...) will be dealt with in a manner appropriate to the infraction and according to student handook.

SUBSTITUTES  All substitutes are to be treated with respect.  Misbehavior documented by substitutes will result in referral to the administration.

STUDENT HANDBOOK  All policies of the student handbook will be followed and enforced and violation of any of my guidelines will be dealt with on an individual basis.

IF YOU NEED HELP WITH ANYTHING,  please look in Room 112 before or after school, or in the faculty study during my
planning period (8th period 1st semester and 7th period 2nd semester).

(And as always - Instructor reserves the right to change any of the above guidelines - sounds like a parent, doesn't it??  Students will be notified of any changes in class.)
