"WALK-ABOUT GAGE COUNTY"

Week One - April 6th Trail Walk

Over 400 persons signed up for the "WALK-ABOUT GAGE COUNTY" event and the turn-out on opening day (Saturday, April 6th) was FANTASTIC!

Even though the weather wasn't perfect, the event brought out walkers of all ages. Families showed up with mom, dad, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, and grandparents, as well as the family pets.
Former and current PATCH members also participated to help make the event a huge success.
The Blue River Trail, from a point on the east side of the South 6th Street bridge to where the trail meets West Court Street, was estimated at 3 miles round-trip. Everyone made the trip in fine shape and was treated to a healthy snack at trail's end. Walkers stated they are anxious to come back next week when the trail walk will start in Riverside Park and continue to where the trail meets West Court Street on the North side. Participants are also encouraged to walk during the week and log all of their miles. When they turn in their completed log at the end of the promotion, they will be eligible for some great prizes.

We'll see you next week.
