Walk About Gage County

2003

Welcome to the Walk About Gage County project! Walking is a wonderful form of exercise that does not require a special location, special time, or special equipment. The goal of this event is to increase your walking and have some fun doing it. The Walk About Gage County project is from March 29 thru April 26. During that time, record the amount of walking that you do daily. Log your steps, or miles daily on the log sheet that will be provided to you at the time of sign up. Walking can be done anywhere you choose. A walking map of the Beatrice trail is included in your packet. We have selected five trails in and around the Beatrice area for planned walks on each Saturday afternoon at 1:00 during the Walk About Gage County project. If you have the time available, come on out and join us! Healthy snacks will be at the trailhead during these planned walks listed below. Special treats for the children that come will be available! In case of inclement weather, the planned walks will be held at the lower level of the Beatrice Library.

Please turn in your completed log sheet at the Beatrice Library by May 16, 2003. You do not have to walk a set number of miles to complete the project! Your name will then be entered into a drawing for $100 grand prize and other special prizes. The distance around Gage County is approximately 120 miles, but you do not have to walk that amount to complete the project. Record the amounts you walk and watch the miles add up!

Registration for Walk About Gage County will be held at the Beatrice City Library on March 26, 27 & 28th, 2003.
