PATCH sponsors “Gage County on the Move 2006”—Sign up now!!!
What’s in it for me? If you are already exercising, then share your steps with us. If you aren’t moving yet, let this activity help to motivate you do leave the couch. You can sign up at any time. So let us help you get started. All you have to do is go to the Beatrice Public library and sign up, get a free pedometer and start stepping. Your daily moving around can be counted in addition to any exercise you do. Why do this?
Engage in activities that you enjoy and you'll be more likely to stick with it. Go for a hike with friends, recruit a team and walk for a cause, walk to an afternoon matinee at the move theater, or join a sports team. Physical activity should be fun! We want the kids involved too. When kids get physical, their minds, bodies, and spirits flourish! If you have any questions or need help getting started, call one of us and we will get you on your way. Remember it’s not just a walking project. You can convert other activities to steps. You can count weight lifting, basketball, cleaning house, mowing, swimming, jazzercise, and more. All of the information is at local drop off sites or on the website. Look for the boxes at Indian Creek Mall (in the circle in front of Ashley’s), at the Post Office, YMCA, and Beatrice Public library. In other communities we will send the information to a local site such as your area school. Just contact us. Please start today!
