The Homestead Trail System

There are 2.5 miles (based on round trips from the Visitor Center) of trails for your hiking/walking enjoyment at Homestead National Monument of America. There are two marked trails through the park:
The Freeman Farm Loop _ _ _ _ _ _ _ This loop takes you through one mile of level lowland prairie and woods, passing several of the sites where the Freeman family lived and worked.
The Upland Prairie Loop This loop takes you on a two mile round trip walk through the restored tallgrass prairie uplands, passing the Freeman Graves and Osage Orange hedgerow.

Smoking is PROHIBITED! Grasslands are easily set on fire.
